I am interested in using wikis to facilitate group projects. I am planning on exploring that option more in depth.

What is the difference between talking back and forth with a blog as opposed to a wiki?

Mr. Schu~I hope that I am able to figure out how to do all of this??!! I want students to be able to make comments and then read each other's comments and make more comments.

Schu--
Is the goal of making a comment to make sure that the students have read the material and are using specific criteria, let's say for art pieces, in stating your observations? I'm trying to think of something that I would use this for with math. Hmmmm.....

WIKI is interesting. I don't know if I'd use it.
Come on, I'm still grasping gaggle. :)

I'm concerned about remembering how to do all of this and being able to explain it to my students.

Why do I need a blog and a wiki? How are they different? I see potential for use with group assignments, but would like to keep things simple with either a blog or a wiki. Which is better?

I believe that wikis could be very useful if you are sure to continually remind the students that all facts should be rechecked.

This would be difficult for elementary students to use. I am concerned about monitoring whether they are on task and whether their comments are appropriate. I know we can check on their comments after the fact, but that takes even more time. This seems more appropriate for use with a small group.
I know there is great information on this site, but I'm not sure I want to show students a site that may or may not be accurate. I teach my students to look at the site and determine if the author is trusted before they gather information, this would be hard for them since it may or may not be true.
